Floor Paper Templates for Ford Transit Van

What to expect

Paper Weight

The templates are printed on 20-lb. white paper, about the same weight (thickness) as a regular letter sheet.

Paper Size

Each template comprises two sheets that run the entire length of the van. One sheet for the driver side, one other sheet for the passenger side.

• Ford Transit 148″ Wheel Base Long (non-extended): 36″ x 136” (2 sheets).
• Ford Transit 148″ Wheel Base Long-Extended: 36″ x 164″ (2 sheets).

Working space

Order the templates only if you have interior space to work in. Due to their size, working outside is not an option! Even the slightest breeze will make the template fly away…

Included

The templates include the following:

• Insulation (foam board) and subfloor (plywood) contour. About 15mm gap with the van’s walls.
• Covering (vinyl flooring) contour. About 5mm gap with the van’s walls.
• Center line. Use this line to align both the driver and passenger side templates.
• 48″ lines. Most insulation and plywood are 48 ” wide, so the 48″ line can be used to determine the location of each board.
• Access hole for spare tire mechanism. To access the winch to lower the spare tire.
• Side step contour. Follow our instructions to modify the factory sliding-door scuff plate: faroutride.com/floor/#sliding-door-step .
• Optional Cutout for In-Floor Shower Pan. If, like us, you want to install TecVan’s in-floor shower pan. We recommend trimming the cutout as late as you can, because the template gets very flexible after that!

Using the templates

1. Trim the templates along the center line and the contour (vinyl or insulation/subfloor). A craft knife and a 48″ straight edge work well.
   • If you plan on using the templates for both the covering and insulation/subfloor, start with the covering as it is larger. Then, you’ll be able to trim along the insulation/subfloor line.
2. TEST the template in your van! This is to ensure it fits your van (manufacturing and print variations) and to prevent material/time waste in the next steps!
3. Trace the contour to the material to be trimmed.
4. Cut the material with the tools of your choice (e.g. track saw and/or jigsaw for foam/wood, or knife for vinyl).

We do not own a large-format printer. The templates are printed and shipped directly from a third-party print service of our choice. Shipping via UPS Ground in the USA only. Please allow 3-7 business days for delivery (excludes weekends and holidays).

We are still looking for a large-format print service in Canada; until then, we cannot offer this product in Canada. We’re doing our best to find one!
