Hello! We’re Isabelle and Antoine 🙂 In 2017, we sold our house (and everything in it), quit our engineering careers, and moved into our self-built campervan. Every day is an opportunity for a new adventure… We’re chasing our dreams, and hopefully it inspires others to do the same!
Antoine
Cofounder, author, developer at FarOutRide.com. I graduated as an aerospace mechanical engineer and worked for Bombardier Aerospace for several years. I moved full-time in my self-built campervan to live my passions, mountain biking and skiing. Then I got obsessed with anything and everything related to van conversion, and today FarOutRide.com is considered one of the most trusted reference for DIY van conversion.
Isabelle
Always ready for a ride, Isabelle is easy to spot with her permanent and contagious smile. She’s passionate about the outdoor, food and solving problems. In her past life she travelled to Africa (cooperation project), Costa-Rica and Europe (to study abroad). She graduated as an electrical engineer, she’s in charge of the coding here on FarOutRide and finding the next cool adventure!
About FarOutRIde
We started faroutride.com to document and share our camper van conversion progress, and eventually share our Vanlife Tales from The Road. But what started as a fun little side project turned into something bigger than we ever imagined. Simple van build updates turned into extensive how-to’s and guides… Years later we keep on updating and creating new content and help the Van Life community, and we don’t take this lightly.
Our Goal
Our goal is to publish in-depth, yet comprehensive, fact-based guides and how-to’s about anything related to DIY camper van conversion. From early planning (build your knowledge) to hands-on tasks (build your van), we’ve got something for everyone!
Our Assets
With background in mechanical and electrical engineering, a creative mindset and full-time Vanlife in our self-built camper van since 2017, it’s fair to say both of us are in a pretty good position to help!
