We are adding a few pass-through holes (AKA access holes) in the floor of our Ford Transit, in order to route electrical wiring, plumbing, vents, and so on. Here is a list of these holes, so that we can refer to them via FarOutRide #2 Build Journal.
Always perform rust prevention steps every time a hole is drilled or metal is trimmed in your van!
Then, adding a grommet protect the components from the sharp edges.
1. Behind Driver Seat
Passing through this hole:
- Remote air filter of the Air Lift compressor.
- Wiring harness of the Air Lift system.
- Exhaust of the Nature’s Head composting toilet.
We drilled this access hole with a 2.5in bi-metal hole saw, performed rust prevention, and at last we added a rubber grommet that we 3D printed (Get the 3D Print File, or Buy on Amazon).
