12V Ceiling Lights Wiring & Calculator

Inputs:

Total Cable Length:

Voltage: 12V

Notes:

  • Fuse: Protects the downstream cables from overcurrent. Do not use a fuse with a rating other than suggested.
  • Dimmer: A PWM dimmer prevents LEDs from flickering, as opposed to a variable-voltage dimmer.
  • Lights: Do not use other LED than linked. Using another brand/model invalidated the calculation (fuse/wire gauge/etc.).
  • Wago Connectors: Allow to connect cable without crimping, thanks to the lever nut design. Acceptable per ABYC standards.
  • Duplex Cable: Do not use other than linked, except using heavier gauge is acceptable. Using cable with lower temperature rating (lower than 105C), aluminum instead of copper, or solid instead of stranded, is NOT acceptable.
  • Calculation: Based on faroutride.com/wire-calc with 10% voltage drop, all derating factors checked.
